Jimmy Choo and the Made in Italy craftsmanship!

Jimmy Choo is known worldwide as one of the best luxury women shoes brand defined by a huge sense of glamour and a confident sense of style. The company was founded in 1996 by Tamara Mellon who left in 2011; today Sandra Choi remains the only Creative Director.

The lovely models and the fashionable design are the result of the exceptional Italian craftsmanship which is showed in detail in this video.

Linea Pelle 2014

We love shoes and everything connected with footwear in general. Last month Shoosly had the chance to go to Linea Pelle. Linea Pelle is the biggest fair for leather and accessories, components, synthetics for footwear, leather goods and furniture held in Bologna twice per year. Launched in 1981, it has become the most qualified international exhibition. With over 1,050 companies from 40 different countries it is the meeting place for over 50,000 firms in the leather sector, becoming a must-visit appointment for Asian businessmen in this sector. The exhibition has enhanced its offer by further “niche” events: Trend Selection New York, Trend Selection London, Anteprima in Milan, Trend Selection Paris, Tokyo Leather Fair and Lineapelle Asia in Canton.

“How shoes are made”

“How shoes are made” is the title of our first storytelling! We want to share with you some pictures taken from a shoes factory in Porto Sant’Elpidio, the heart of women shoes. We will post several photos during the week in which we will show you wich are the main steps for the production of a pair of shoes; starting from the prototype and arriving  to the shipment! In each photo there will be a description of that particular manufacturing process.

The Geology of Shoes

Project is taking inspiration from sediment layers and from effects of erosive processes in nature as well as from traditional shoe making techniques. Special construction method has been developed and used across the collection. Multiple layers of leather scrap pieces are added on the last and subsequently sanded down to achieve the final shape and unique colour pattern of the shoe.
